Mrs. Heilig is very welcoming and supportive. I have dyslexia and she made learning more manageable by offering me support with my organizational skills. Her style of teaching was helpful because she let me revise my work if I didn't understand something I learned. She also made time for me to discuss things that were giving me difficulty because there was a lot of reading. She helped me gain more confidence because when I was more organized, I was able to focus on my work and that helped me to understand what was happening in class. I was less stressed out about sharing my work with my classmates when we peer edited because she was very serious about making sure everyone was respectful of other student’s abilities. Mrs. Heilig helped me to learn a lot of history by being an amazing teacher and having a welcoming classroom.
