As an incoming freshman I was very timid, hated public speaking, and didn't want to participate in any leadership roles. However, when I entered Ms. Losa's engineering class I immediately felt welcomed and engaged. Ms. Losa saw potential in me and made sure to nurture it, she told me I should join her engineering club and I remember feeling so honored that a teacher as respected as her wanted me on her team. I have been in the engineering club for 3 years now during that time Ms. Losa encouraged me to go outside my comfort zone by urging me to participate in competitions and high pressured speeches this allowed me to grow into a well rounded confident person who now has no problem speaking in front of people or taking on big commitments. Ms. Losa not only acts as a teacher but also like a parent she supports all her students through all their ups and downs, makes us laugh inside as well as outside of class, and always has our best interests at heart ;she even takes the time to find internship and scholarship opportunities for us. I am so grateful for her and everything she has done for me I definitely wouldn't be where I am now without her guidance.

My teacher Edna Losa is a very excellent teacher. She's taught multiple different fields of engineering such as mechanical, electrical, soldering, architure, physics, and chemical. Not even just that but she has taught us geometry and other skills like leadership, teamwork and more in the engineering club she runs. She's dedicated so much time, effort and even money from her own pocket to help our engineering team to make sure we make it to regional, state and even nationals at one point. She has specifically pushed me to help me achieve my goal of going to UCLA and has stayed after school on her own time to help me and give me the support I need to continue pushing forward. I believe shes helped push not just me but our entire engineering team and others to persevere and push forward. I believe if anyone deserves this award it's my teacher Ms.Losa.

Ms. Losa is one of the teachers in my life that has shown me that you can learn something new every single day. Not only does she teach high school level engineering, but also mathematics, physics, our coach in competition if skillsUSA, and not only that, she has also gone to law school. Have someone who has done a lot throughout their life has shown me that I can do a lot as well, and that the sky is the limit. When she wants something done, she does it, no questions asked. That’s how I work now. She’s shown me that the only thing that is stopping me is myself, and now I learned control and knowing that if I want something done, I can do it. She has taught me about being a leader, showing up. Proving that I am worthy, and showing me that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Ms.Losa has changed my perspective of learning and now I know that I can do anything, anytime, anywhere as long as I put my efforts and mind to it.
