I believe mentorship can greatly benefit future generations by providing guidance, support, and inspiration. It helps people navigate their personal and professional lives, offering insights that aren’t always available through formal education. Mentors can help mentees develop critical thinking skills, build confidence, and set and achieve goals. Throughout my educational journey, one individual stands out as an inspiration and a very supportive person—my teacher, Kelly Ramos, who instructs EMT and science courses. Kelly is not just an educator; she is a source of strength who has very much impacted my life and learning experience who I have been glad to meet for the past 2 years. For example, my EMT teacher, Kelly, changed my life. She not only made me love and become more interested in healthcare as a whole, but she also showed me love for myself. Kelly was always there for my personal goals and my personal life, offering unwavering support and encouragement. Her mentorship ignited my passion and curiosity, showing me the importance of healthcare and inspiring me to pursue it further. Kelly’s influence is a testament to the power of mentorship and how it can positively shape someone’s journey. Her guidance and support have truly transformed my life, giving me the confidence and motivation to pursue my dreams in healthcare. One remarkable aspect of Kelly's teaching style is her insistence on practical learning opportunities. She goes above and beyond, providing us with hands-on experiences that truly enhance our understanding of healthcare. Kelly is awesome because she doesn't just teach us from books—she takes us out into the real world. We get to do cool stuff like from clinical visits to concerts to ambulance ride-alongs, she ensures that we gain valuable real-world exposure. These experiences have not only helped grow my knowledge but have also fueled my passion for helping others. With all of her unwavering support, she has really made me love what I'm learning and want to help people even more. Beyond academics, what's even more special about Kelly is how she cares about us personally. Kelly extends her care to our emotional well-being. When I faced a personal tragedy with the loss of my aunt to dementia during school, I was struggling. Kelly was there for me every step of the way. Her words of comfort and understanding, such as "It is okay to take your time" and "You don't need to apologize for crying," provided me with the peace, comfort, and guidance I needed during a difficult time. With Kelly's presence, while she always checked on me, I found a second mother—a source of unwavering support and empathy whenever I needed her the most. She is always there in general. As she does call herself, ¨¨Mama Kelly¨ What sets Kelly apart is her unwavering belief in her students. Kelly always believes in us. She not only is very knowledgeable, never minding to share many healthcare and life-filled stories but also has so much confidence and motivation in each of us. Her dedication to our success is shown in her tireless advocacy on our behalf. She always fights for us and wants us to do our best regardless of the circumstances. For example, when I had trouble with getting a hospital clinical, she went out of her way to help me get another opportunity. Kelly went above and beyond to just secure an alternative opportunity for me. Her relentless support and encouragement are a testament to her commitment to our growth and love for her students. She's always pushing us to be better and telling us ¨we can do it¨ and I can see that through her dedication of advocacy for her students. Kelly's teaching style is not just about remembering information; it is about empowering students to excel. She challenges us to push beyond our limits, often incorporating complex scenarios that test our skills and knowledge. Her words of encouragement, such as "You guys are all smart, I knew you could do this," inspire us to strive for excellence. Even in moments of stress and uncertainty, Kelly is always dedicated to seeing us progress and grow, showing her genuine concern for our success. Additionally, her willingness to help students outside of high school with their healthcare careers especially after graduating is truly remarkable for giving us her number to always keep in touch, ask questions, for help and ect. She is always ̈just a text or door open away” as she says and is always ready to provide assistance or network to find the answers needed if she may not exactly have them. Kelly's dedication to supporting and empowering students goes beyond the classroom, making her a truly exceptional teacher. She's not just a teacher who gives us work and leaves us alone. She teaches and helps us through everything and anything. She is our support system. We all are always comfortable around her and she is a person to whom we can tell everything. She never is judgemental under any circumstance. Even when she jokes around, you can tell she means no harm and still means what she says about her unwavering support and dedication. She's always there for us, checking and making sure we're doing okay. In every interaction, Kelly's genuine care and mentorship shine through. Whether she is assisting with assignments after school hours or providing guidance during skills practice sessions, her unwavering support is a constant source of strength. She fosters an amazing environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. In conclusion, I can't thank Kelly enough for all she's done for me. She's not just a teacher; she truly cares like I am her own. I'm so lucky to have her in my life, guiding me and cheering me on every step of the way as she continues to do outside of my college career as she never stops caring.
