Student Nomination Stories
Nominated by: Jeff Pitathawatchai
I am proud to nominate Senior Master Sergeant Paquin for national recognition. SMSgt Paquin is an exceptional teacher, mentor, and leader who makes a lasting impact on every cadet he works with. What makes him truly awesome is his ability to connect with everyone — he stays real and approachable like a trusted friend while inspiring us to reach our full potential. He goes above and beyond to make students excited to come to class. His lessons on communication are practical, engaging, and applicable not just in school, but at home and in our future careers. He challenges us in meaningful ways while making learning fun, encouraging curiosity, and celebrating our successes. SMSgt Paquin consistently shows that he cares. He listens, understands, and takes the time to support each student individually. Whether it’s offering advice, giving encouragement, or simply checking in, he lets us know that our growth and well-being matter to him. His guidance has made me — and countless other cadets — more confident, capable, and motivated both in and out of the classroom. Beyond teaching, he sacrifices countless hours to run competitions and practices for JRROTC events, ensuring we have the resources and preparation to succeed. He supports us not only academically, but also personally, offering mentorship, advice, and encouragement whenever it is needed. His dedication goes far beyond what is expected, and his positive energy lifts the entire program. SMSgt Paquin embodies the very best qualities of service: leadership, mentorship, selflessness, and integrity. National recognition would honor a career dedicated not just to achievement, but to inspiring and empowering others, and to making a profound difference in the lives of every student he serves.
